Perfect, I would like to thank you for the time & effort you have gone to Malcolm, you have been very professional & helpful, something that is rare in this day & age. My last question before I phone you with credit card details is 'can I pay via credit card in euro' the reason being they will charge me euro to sterling transaction fee! (banks just cant get enough can they) If so the price in Euro's please, if its a problem I will live with it. Dave..

Malcolm,

Pictures of my (Futurenergy 24v) turbine installation attached. Slightly unorthodox I grant you but the only thing I paid for was the pin on the top bracket. I scrounged 2 x 3.3M sections of 100mm box with 250mm square feet on them. I bolted these together with M16 bolts (high tensile 8.8's). I welded 4 lengths of angle to each foot to reduce the shear forces. To the top I attached a 6" pipe flange blank which I bored out to accept a 1.5" bsp socket which was welded in place and a section of threaded scaffold tube screwed in. The hinge and bracket are made from 6 x 3 angle iron about 3/8 thick welded to a backplate. I winched the assembly up with a pair of ratchet straps. It is generating in the pic. Blade noise is minimal but I get a bit of a thrum from the container. I might engineer a MK2 version and make an assembly that takes this mast on to the top of the container an guy wire it to the corners. Current height is about 7.5-8M so on the top it would be at least 10M. I will send some pics of the rest of my set up once I cleared some space to get a decent picture of it.

regards,

Colin

Thanks for your pics Colin, it seems a very robust setup, your container is acting like the soundbox of a guitar, I dont know if putting it on top would improve it... Would it be possible to isolate it somehow with industrial rubber matting or similar under the fixing plates?

regards

Malcolm
